Robert Vaughn .. I started fishing with my grandfather when i was old enough to walk, we would spend the weekends on Santee Coopers Lake Marion fishing for various fish like catfish, stripers, crappie, shell cracker, pumpkin seed, largemouth bass, and white bass. We would stay on his houseboat all weekend and oftern we would catch fish, clean and eat them for dinner. My love for fishing came from my grandfather. My grandfather took me to a Bass Fishing University event at the fair grounds one day that is like a 3 day course on everything bass fishing....it was awesome and i was hooked on bass fishing, next came my first bass fishing tournament with my gransfather called Take a Kid Fishing at Lake Wateree while in my early teens, we didnt win but that didnt matter i was hooked on tournaments now....lol. Well a little about me.....im currently a Wilderness Systems Kayak Pro-Staff Fishing Team Member, a Certified SC Department of Natural Resources Fishing Intructor for the SCDNR we teach kids how to fish and show them everything they need to know like how to tie knots, rig reel and rods, bait their hooks, how to take fish off, and we promote catch and release so future generations can enjoy the great SC fishing opportunities we have today. We are currently sponsored by these fine fishing companies, Lowrance, Pure Fishing, Overboard Fishing Rods, Ram Mounts, Finsfishing.com (makers of the best braided premium superline), Columbia Sportswear (the best outdoor adventure clothing), yattack.us (the best kayak rigging gear), pro-cure.com (scented fish attractant gel), ownerhooks.com (the best fishing hooks on the market), okumafishingteam.com (the best reels and rods that wont break the bank), kayakbassfishing.com ( Hook1....a great place to get all the kayak fishing gear you need), mirrolure.com ( the best saltwater artificial baits on the market), and River Runners in Columbia SC.....a great place to go in Columbia for Kayaks and gear ( try before you buy) .....they are the local Wilderness Systems and Native Watercraft dealer........ask for Jesse and tell him we sent you. We were just recently in the 2012 March issue of the SC Sportsman Magazine page 76-77...thank you to Phillip Gentry. 2012 we will be busy with guided kayak fishing trips as well as the IFA Kayak Redfish Tour tournaments ( Savannah and Charleston) so book your trip as soon as possible to insure you dont miss out on the trip of a lifetime. Fishing from a kayak is like nothing else, it gets you so close to nature and there is no other way to fish some of the places we go without a kayak.
